St Alphege Pre-School Website

St. Alphege Pre-school, a ‘Pre-school for the families of Solihull Parish’, is situated in the Oliver Bird Hall, within the grounds of St. Alphege Church.  Pre-school offers sessional Early Years care and education, every weekday morning in term-time, for children who are 2 and 3 years old. Our setting is inspected by OFSTED and has now receivedtwo ‘Outstanding’ inspections, the last of which was in June 2015.

Pre-school prides itself in offering a caring, stimulating and safe environment and a happy atmosphere, where children are individually valued and their needs are met.  We help children to build their skills to their full potential, and give them the opportunity to rely on people outside their family and to develop confidence with other children in a wider environment.

We are lucky to have a wonderful outdoor space, our Forest School, which has been created thanks to the fundraising efforts of parents and carers over the years. It is a magical space used most days, which adds a new dimension to the children’s education and allows them to fully experience the wonder and magic of the natural world.  Forest School is a learning approach which sits within and complements Pre-school’s Early Years curriculum, and is a natural extension of our indoor learning environment.

Applicationsfor St. Alphege Pre-school are welcomed from September – January in the academic year during which a child turns two years old.  Admissions to Pre-school take place in the September of the academic year during which a child turns three years old.  More information is available via our website.
