What is the Junction?
A warm welcome to the Junction, a service especially for families with young children. We meet in the Oliver Bird Hall (next door to St Alphege) most Sundays at 9.15am
The service follows the general format of a Communion service, in a very informal style and with worship band.
On a typical morning, we begin with songs and prayers together. Then we have a Bible reading and talk suitable for all ages, led by one our clergy or lay leaders. Junior age children (Rock Solid) and our ParishYouth group (11-18) go out for their activities during this time.
After our time of learning together, we divide up in the OBH for a range of engaging age-appropriate activities for children, including for babies and toddlers (Bubbles). This often involves craft or practical activities centred on the Bible story of the day. The Junction offers a relaxed and friendly environment, and families enjoy learning and worshipping together.
The Junction then joins the 9.15am church building congregation to receive Holy Communion, a final song and a blessing.
On the 2nd Sunday of the month, there is no Junction because everyone comes together in the church building for a service of all-age Communion. This service lasts about an hour.
